Georgian Silver Caddy Spoon
1808 · Birmingham, England
This piece is available at $185 CAD. Delivery anywhere in Canada is already in that price — there is nothing extra to pay.
Paying by card on the site is not switched on yet, so I arrange each sale myself: write to me and I will confirm the piece is still here, photograph it for you, put it on hold while you think, and tell you how to pay. I will say in that note exactly how to pay and what the total is, and nothing is paid until you have agreed it. I will never ask you for a card number, and I will never ask you to pay in gift cards.
I am Sally, and I answer every message myself, usually within a day or two. If you need it by a particular day — a birthday, a wedding — tell me the date in your note and I will say straight away whether it can be done. Outside Canada? Write anyway and I will quote the carriage honestly before you commit to anything.
How delivery and returns work.
About this piece
A sterling silver caddy spoon with a shell-shaped bowl and a bright-cut handle. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1808, with a maker's mark that is worn but legible. Light surface scratches, as you would expect from something that spent two centuries in a tea caddy.
Where it came from
Caddy spoons were made short on purpose so they would sit inside the caddy with the lid shut. Every one is a little different because they were a cheap way for a silversmith to show off.
