Pair of Staffordshire Spaniels
c. 1860 · Staffordshire, England
This piece is available at $540 CAD. Delivery anywhere in Canada is already in that price — there is nothing extra to pay.
Paying by card on the site is not switched on yet, so I arrange each sale myself: write to me and I will confirm the piece is still here, photograph it for you, put it on hold while you think, and tell you how to pay. I will say in that note exactly how to pay and what the total is, and nothing is paid until you have agreed it. I will never ask you for a card number, and I will never ask you to pay in gift cards.
I am Sally, and I answer every message myself, usually within a day or two. If you need it by a particular day — a birthday, a wedding — tell me the date in your note and I will say straight away whether it can be done. Outside Canada? Write anyway and I will quote the carriage honestly before you commit to anything.

About this piece
A facing pair of seated spaniels with gilt collars and black-painted features. Both are press-moulded and hollow, with the flat backs typical of mantelpiece pieces. The gilding on the right-hand dog has worn thin across the collar. One ear has a glaze flake the size of a grain of rice.
Where it came from
They are meant to face each other, and they have clearly spent a hundred and sixty years doing exactly that on somebody's mantelpiece. I will not separate them.
