About this piece
A double-woven Welsh wool blanket in madder red and natural cream, in a tapestry pattern. Wool is dense and springy with no moth damage anywhere. Washed and aired. One corner has an old darn in matching yarn.
Where it came from
Hold it up to the light and you can see it is two cloths woven into one another at the pattern. That is why it weighs what it does and why it has lasted.
